Channeling - scientific rationale and guide

I've had a bunch of requests for how people can do channeling or get better at it. I've made a thread on a website called ATS; here's the link:
http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread689864/pg1#pid11091713
(at time of posting this the thread is not entirely done but it's a good deal in. It will be complete by April 17th if not sooner.)

Enjoy! And I wish you the best of luck in channeling.

Feel free to post questions here and I'll address them as I'm able.

  4. Jay,
I've tried channeling 3 times now. I am not able to get any info that I feel is clear, however, I feel a lot of light and a compassionate essence. I have tried to find more info on this but haven't so I'll ask you. After I've come out of a light trance where I feel this essence, I feel strong tingling all over my body. It's a very intense electric-feeling, I guess. It lasts for awhile too. Is this a normal side-effect?
Thanks for the ATS thread. I found it really helpful and informative. I have been practicing the ball and number-breathing exercises.
Looking forward to your next blog posting!

  5. the electric tingling is a very common side effect =)
    good job.

In the beginning it's extremely hard to tell the difference between imagination and actual channeled information. I've found it can't be verified by the "source" either because if it's imagination you will imagine the right response. It is a very subtle feeling that just takes time to recognize. Keep trying and glad to hear you're trying the excersises!

  6. It seems risky! I read the whole thing.... It also seems kind of "outthere"... Like I cant imagine doing it... Do you think with enough practice I could do it?

  7. Hi L.

Channeling is not for everyone, in my opinion. I say only try for it if you feel led to. You may want to ask yourself how or why you came across the guide or this site - there may be a reason other than learning to channel? or it may be TO channel? good to ask the question though.

The mental exercises in the guide can help most anyone. If you feel like it do those for a while and see how you feel.

  9. Recently I've been having this odd confusion between my physical eyes and the 3rd eye. It feels like I should be naturally walking around with my eyes closed. Also, I've been seeing these large blue spots, just like I've looked into a flashlight. It's discomforting but not painful. Really I'm more concerned that I'm going to start bumping into walls!

Any idea what this is - do you have any advice on how to deal with this? It seems somehow related to your excellent description of channeling.

  10. Hi dreamwalker,

I recall having a short period of time experiencing blue spots and a confusion (of vision) like you mention. For me it only lasted a few days and I took a break from channeling and meditative visualization for a bit.

One thing that can happen with a lot of people is they create pressure on their physical eyeballs by squinting or creating too much energy flow there. There can be minor pain, a little bluriness, "seeing spots", headache. If you're getting anything like those or what you are having, some of these may help:

    * put your palms over your eyes and leave your eyes open. This is especially good if you are a Reiki practitioner or know how to use energy flow in a healing manner.
    * make sure your neck and head are in a good position and relaxed, rub your neck and throat, rub your face, third eye, and massage your scalp. this will help balance the energy.
    * think about making your channeling attempts/sessions shorter for a few days.

For the record: I'm not a doctor and these are just things that have worked for me so I'm passing them on for you to try at your own discretion.

  11. Thank you Jay I will try these things. I have Reiki II, and am what some would consider to be an Indigo. I think it started about the time that I started working on active visualization of a piece of paper, while doing other things. The paper is handy because you can do all kinds of things with it, and it's simple enough that it can be used for centering. Now it feels like I'm trying to instinctively look at a piece of paper that isn't there - the brain seems to want to believe that the paper really exists!

As you suggest I'll try and lay off it for a few days and see if things get better. I somehow doubt that a physician could help with this.

    Many thanks!
